There are ~40k postdocs in the US, according to the NIH. While PhD students generally have good support (their committees, external advisors, and classmates), the postdocs do not. To help with this, we're starting the 'Postdoc Night Science' club with a first branch in NYC. ⬇️
Proud of this amazing & collaborative effort in imaging NEPC & AR- prostate cancers with @LewisLabMSKCC & @samirzaidi labs. Congrats to @ImbertiCinzia for leading the work & Josh Korsen (former Lewis Lab graduate) for initiating the work & all authors for their contribution.
Read our latest "CEACAM5-Targeted Immuno-PET in Androgen Receptor–Negative Prostate Cancer" in the JNM lead by postdoc alumni @ImbertiCinzia and with @PillarsettyLab@samirzaidi labs https://t.co/euFCBzjYnx
New paper out in #npjImaging@Nature_NPJ!
'Fast histological assessment of adipose tissue inflammation by label-free mid-infrared optoacoustic microscopy' from @MunichImaging.
Read the paper here: https://t.co/QJBqsU5LNp
☢️ This @JournalofNucMed paper describes the use of anti-glypican mAbs for imaging and treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma via alpha-emitter radiotherapy. PDAC is among the most deadly cancers, and new treatments are urgently needed. —E.S.

Non-cancerous cells were unaffected. But, it is yet unknown whether this or similar methods could be effective in vivo. If so, manipulation of bioelectrical signaling processes via quantum tunneling could eventually form the basis for a new family of cancer therapeutics. —E.S.
⚡This @NatureNano study described a unique method to initiate #cancer cell #apoptosis using electron transfer via #quantum biological tunneling. A nanoscale "antenna" conjugated to Cyt-c in combination with an electric field killed GBM cells in vitro.

Huge congratulations to Dr Ben McLarney @McLarney_PhD on his new paper out in JNM “Ambient Light Resistant Shortwave Infrared Fluorescence Imaging for Preclinical Tumor Delineation via pHLIP-ICG” @LewisLabMSKCC @grimmrad @PillarsettyLab@HellerLab https://t.co/sJUz4Qtma1
Check out our publication in @Biomedicines_MDPI and Discover the secret behind prolonged drug action! @chiosislabmskcc@Pillarsettylab@MSKCancerCenter research on epichaperome agents zelavespib and icapamespib sheds light on their efficacy.

Excited to attend @WMISWMIC 2023 in Prague to learn about new discoveries & share our work. Talks & posters from lab members Kali, @paulademetrio09, Rachel,@ArtschwagerRaik@RMExner, Teja, Tullio, Vilma, Zelie, & collaborative work from @ECharlesPratt @McLarney_PhD & @Tendler_S
Unlike uptake mechanisms like the "EPR effect", nanoparticle exit from tumors has been inadequately studied. Tumor retention is at least partially determined by exit in addition to uptake, and this knowledge will help us improve nanoparticles for #cancer#theranostics.

🔬 Interesting @NatureMaterials paper delves into the exit mechanisms of #nanoparticles from solid #tumors, finding clearance to be size dependent and mostly thru the lymphatic system. Very few particles diffuse directly back into the blood.
