STATEMENT: LABOUR PARTY NATIONAL WOMEN’S CONFERENCE
For the past eight months, I have been challenging the Labour Party over the systematic discrimination faced by trans women in our Party. This includes our exclusion from internal Officer positions and our barring as delegates from the National Women’s Conference.
I am grateful to the trade unions who, having heard my representations, and have chosen to boycott this event due to its complete lack of trans representation at the decision-making level.
I am also grateful to The Metro for publishing my story today - a story which in part has led unions, MPs, and even some CLPs (including my own) to say “no” to trans exclusion.
I would also like to thank Unite, my union, and all my CLP colleagues, every one of whom stood with me on the night of June 18th at our CLP Women’s Conference selection meeting.
Transphobia remains epidemic in some areas of the Labour Party, reaching into its highest levels.
In recent times, we have witnessed a severe regression: the abandonment of a Self-ID policy, the adoption of a deeply flawed Sex and Gender Data report authored by a person closely associated with the gender-critical group Sex Matters, and the acceptance of the heavily criticised Cass Report, which completely fails trans children.
We have seen life-saving access to puberty blockers blocked for vulnerable youth. At the same time, trans women are increasingly treated as pariahs both in the party and often in society generally because of a cruel culture war against a tiny, vulnerable minority.
The Secretary of State for Women and Equalities has signed off the EHRC Code of Practice.
However, the government's own Equality Impact Assessment clearly states that the Code's updates will have 'a significant impact' on trans people and that the likely impacts on gender reassignment are 'negative, in relation to each of the 3 limbs of the Public Service Equality Duty’.
This trajectory has damaged the UK’s global reputation, contributing to our seismic drop in the ILGA Europe Rainbow Index - leading to political parties, and specifically Labour, being excluded from Pride events nationwide.
In February, I initiated legal proceedings against the Labour Party. I am immensely grateful to the hundreds of supporters who have backed my CrowdJustice campaign to make this action possible, which is currently at a stalemate.
The Labour Party must decide whether it will continue down a path that marginalises some of the most vulnerable people in society, or whether it will finally choose equality, integrity, and courage.
I call on the new Labour Party executive to reinstate trans women to their full, equal standing.
I urge the Party to demonstrate true leadership by updating the Equality Act - rectifying the widespread harm and confusion caused to women in all their diversity in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling (For Women Scotland v Scottish Ministers [2025] UKSC 16) and doing everything possible to promote human rights for all.

My hairdresser lives in Frinton, the posh part of the Clacton constituency, to my surprise she told me that not only is everyone talking about how they’re going to vote for Count Binface but a local resident has built a replica out of bins.
Imagine if he fucking does it 😂

This week marks the 5th month of strike action by @CwmTafMorgannwg Health Visitors for a fair and just pay settlement.
It needs urgent resolution.
I have today written to the @WelshGovernment Minister for Health and Care @mabonapgwynfor regarding this matter 👇
🚨MPs have now jointly written to Tower Hamlets council about striking leisure centre workers who are members of @UniteLondonEast.
The longer this dispute goes on without promises being honoured, the worse will the situation will become for workers & our residents.
Our letter:
People who are treating @CountBinface like a ‘joke’ candidate should remember that an ice cream shop in Southend (just around the coast from Clacton) has already adopted one of his policies with great success …
