This country has a ticking bomb sitting in it, and almost nobody is talking about it

Every conversation on education in this country is mostly around higher education, NEET, JEE, IITs, and big universities.

What is more surprising is that nobody is talking about - Government primary schools in India.

Millions of lower-middle-class families can’t afford to send their children to private schools. They have no option but to send them to government schools.

The entire government primary school education system is completely fucked up in India, that’s the real problem. 1st to 8th standard is the foundation of any child, it decides what their future is going to look like.

All these government schools building have become distribution centers for government schemes.

Throughout the year, teachers are doing administrative jobs - They handle election preparations, the census, implementation of government schemes, and every task except the one they were hired for, they don’t teach anything.

On top of it, most schools don't even have enouh teachers. Even where teachers are available, many are not qualified enough to teach properly. The learning outcomes are so poor that children in 5th standard struggle with basic calculation.

What's the future going to look like for these millions of children - In the age of AI, robotics most of them will end up unemployed.

Any country that has a large number of unskilled and unemployed youth, you can imagine what the consequences are going to be.

They will ask for jobs, but the government can’t provide them, except to become a delivery boy.

They will protest against the government.

This is not just an education crisis. It is a ticking time bomb for every future government.

Here’s a secret that every genuinely original thinker knows: there are no original ideas. there are only original combinations. Every “breakthrough” is two existing ideas from different domains meeting for the first time inside someone’s head.

The person who reads only within their field will only ever have ideas that their field has already had.

This is why the most interesting people are almost always polymaths.

Go wider. Read the thing that has nothing to do with your work. Talk to the person who has nothing in common with you. Visit the place that makes no sense on your itinerary. The irrelevant input is the one that will combine with everything else and produce something nobody’s ever seen.
