📢Career announcement alert 🚨
In just over a month, I will be joining @MonashBusiness@MonashMarketing.
I'm thrilled about the new opportunities and outstanding colleagues I will have @MonashUni (but also with no more harsh winters and a summer bday)
The Fellow Award represents SCP’s highest honor—the award recognizes seasoned scholars who received a Ph.D. 15+ years ago and who have made outstanding and unusual contributions to consumer psychology, through both research and service
@andre_quentin This piece helped me a ton to understand the school space in US and Aus. But not all around the globe though. In Portuguese and other romance languages, the correspondence between signs and sounds is greater, so for me it felt absurd anyone would teach anything but phonetics!
@andre_quentin I would also infer that in the short term, there will be more genuine actions there because folks who have done them were doing despite the disincentives
Nice piece on Mental Accounting that covers many years of work in behavioral science by many, many collaborators. Building knowledge one robust study at a time!
@SpillerSAS This is how I learned there were earthquakes in Melbourne/Australia. Pretty weak, but I was like "I didn't factor this in the move decision" and "wow, this alert system is great" to "do I need to take action?" to "I'm on the 17th floor so 🤪"
@jayvanbavel Harvard can easily check IRB protocols of those studies and see what names are listed. But as you mentioned, doesn't seem plausible as RA usually don't have this type of involvement unless they are co authors
@alexoimas @CFCamerer @alexoimas I appreciate the shout out, there are good and bad researchers everywhere. There is a tendency to put econ in pedestals that quite honestly also leads to an extreme toxic environment (see EJRM and econ depts everywhere being known for toxicity). Proud Mkt prof here
@CloarecJulien Thanks for bringing attention to this! And if non-native speakers are generally well-understood (happened to be my case), people forget they may still struggle understanding conversations, reading papers, preparing for presentations, writing, etc.
And what a nice Tweet to wake up to! My 1st PhD research project was on Mental Accounting. Ended up abandoning it (advisor left uni). Everything else I abandoned was stuff that didn't replicate. Nice closure (or restart?) of my MA journey #teamBrazil 🇧🇷 @guidearamos Leo Nicolao
Looking for robust behavioral science effects? We replicated @R_Thaler mental accounting in 21 countries. Led by the amazing folks @JdmLab_Unipd from @UniPadova. Pre print https://t.co/M3x3urBykt
🙏 to the 5K+ volunteer Ps
