My gorgeous wife @joao_kay and I took the family to the beautiful Oyster Bar in Edinburgh’s Cafe Royale on Tuesday. A special place for us as it was where I took her on our first date in the summer of 1978. I was definitely out to impress her, and it worked! 🇵🇹♥️🏴
I'm convinced this diagram illustrates a big part of the Patient Flow problem. We're not looking at the right data because there aren't enough meaningful conversations taking place about what data needs to be looked at.

Professor @mumtaz_patel_1 said: ‘No one could fail to be touched by the distressing experiences of the candidates affected, and we sincerely apologise again to the 283 doctors.
‘We have a huge responsibility to ensure the quality and robustness of these high-stakes exams, which dominate early training and are the entry point to higher specialty training in a physician’s career. The report gives us an important opportunity to learn and improve the way we work together as the Federation.’

To get a better idea of how much “displacement” was experienced by Respiratory Medicine’s patients, I counted how many of them were being accommodated on *non-*Respiratory wards at midday each day. That’s the green line whose scale is measured on the right-hand axis.
