I'm happy to announce that starting this Fall I will be an Assistant Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at Lake Superior Sate University! We will be studying phytoremediation in quaking aspen and cannabis @LifeatLSSU
I'm pretty sure @LastWeekTonight with the birdman will tell me something horrendous about our society bookended by adorable animals and celebrities/politicians/news casters being the absolute weirdest humans. It's perfect.
Grad workers are also helping each other organize across campuses. For instance, those at Northwestern, University of Chicago, and Johns Hopkins "ran joint trainings and exchanged materials" since they were organizing around the same time, Luketa wrote: https://t.co/VXTvBHkAJy
My faculty harasser, who was found guilty of violating department and university policies by IU Title IX, was not banned from IU Bloomington campus. He was only banned from department space/events. Not banned from campus as a whole.
And yet this student was banned for 5 years.

What an honor to be mentioned in the same breath as Babes in Toyland, Bikini Kill, and Lambrini Girls! Thank you, Amy!

It appears that the North Dakota GOP is going to be voting on a platform that includes "restoration of gender dysphoric people" to their "natural biological state,"
IE: Forced detransition and conversion therapy at any age.
So whatever your politics, Sylvia's case is important.
It asks the Supreme Court a big question: In what scenarios should government officials be immune for jailing their critics?

Some days I wonder why I chose to work here. Other days, like today's snow day where only my one colleague and I are here, remind me why. My colleague, whose office is two doors down, is blasting thrash metal.
This shirt raises money for and causes, but also I think explores a central tension of contemporary progressive politics.
You can’t really be punk (edgy, avant garde, rebellious, cool, fun) and also be the educated professionals who run everything.

The "Pink Triangle" drivers license bill that would force al transgender people to get a gender marker identifying them as trans if they want to change their gender has been scheduled tomorrow in Iowa with less than 24 hours notice.
They clearly do not want people to show up.
The number of messages I have gotten from cisgender people who read Pamela Paul's article and were nearly swayed until reading mine easily debunking it is unreal.
I am glad I am able to fight back.
But I do NOT have the reach that the New York Times has to offer.
