My appeal to all members of the Digital Publishers Association of India (Digipub): Please highlight the tremendous injustice being done by courts in Gujarat to my colleague, coauthor, collaborator and friend Ravi Nair who has been in jail since Thursday. As his advocate Abhik Chimni told the High Court of Gujarat, Ravi doesn’t deserve to be in jail for even a single minute. Unless the Supreme Court intervenes, his bail application will not be heard before coming Wednesday. This is shocking and shameful. How can a non-bailable warrant be issued without prior notice or the issuance of a bailable warrant. All this is happening at the behest of one of the richest men in the world who happens to be a close friend of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he is oligarch Gautam Adani. Please examine all the facts and speak up for a fellow journalist who has been unfairly imprisoned. Paranjoy Guha Thakurta
