Imagine this: 10 years from now, you’re looking back on today.
Will you remember the scroll? The memes? The random posts?
Or will you remember what you did after you finally put your phone down?
Go make that memory. Right now.
@awilkinson Love this. Stuff like this could help kids see tech as a way to learn and have fun, not just a distraction or an escape like it was with our generation.
@KenDBerryMD Informed consent means giving people unbiased facts, not ads designed to sell, especially when lives are at stake. Honestly sad that businesses are doing this.
@KenDBerryMD Food’s a big one, but also less activity, stress, chemicals we introduce, and even gut changes could play a part. Wild animals stay lean because their environment keeps them moving and away from junk.
@SaturnSpotter 1. Start small. Clean up your home screen.
2. Make it harder to open your social media apps, but not impossible.
3. Start finding a replacement activity that is easily accessible, but still gives dopamine. Reading is a good first step for a lot of people.
Then keep going.
@PatrickHWagner@crazyclips_ Phone addiction is a plague and we need to stop it, especially on the road.
How many people have died to this? Infuriating.
@_beautywithb_ Hell yes. I do the same thing. Phone out out of the bedroom, no exceptions.
I put it right next to my workout equipment so I encourage myself to work out before I doomscroll and rot my brain in the morning.
@ScottDKushner@JonoBarnes It's not a bad choice to have an addiction to. I personally use it a ton to learn, but I also acknowledge that I use it wayyyy too much sometimes.
@JonoBarnes It's one of the last places to actually learn on social media. But that doesn't mean we should spend hours upon hours doomscrolling through it.
You just found it.
The post you’ve been searching for. The one that will change everything.
Here it is:
Log off. Go live the moment you’re missing right now.
Hey, you. Yes, you.
Stop. Breathe.
What were you really looking for when you picked up your phone?
A distraction, or something that actually matters?
This is your reminder: put it down. Go chase the real thing.
