Daybreak in Udi was the first Nigerian movie to win an Oscar.
It was shot in Udi, Enugu, in 1949 and featured dialogue in Igbo language.
It won the Oscar Award for Best Documentary Feature in 1950.
@HAHayatu I told this to Managing Director in EEDC office in Onitsha in 2014 that “what happened to landline telephones with coming it mobile phones will happen to power supply”
INEC gave the APC the login to their database.
Wike’s assistant has revealed how they shut down the IREV. They are running INEC at the backend. Joash Amupitan is compromised!
Any result he declares will be REJECTED!
INEC will set Nigeria on fire. Mallam El-Rufai is in detention. He was arrested for allegedly tapping the cell phone of the NSA. Wike’s assistant has committed a much heavier crime.
Lere Olayinka has compromised INEC server.
If Lere is not immediately picked up by the DSS for publishing a classified information, then Nigerians will take it that INEC is working for the APC. In the meantime, Professor Joash Amupitan MUST tender his resignation.
This is the second time he has been caught showing his partisanship & obvious bias. Amupitan is in close association with the APC.
INEC is far from independent. Delaying the inevitable would only lead to events that may jeopardize the fragile demoCrazy in Nigeria. A compromised umpire cannot conduct a general election. People should know when to quit! 😡
@Reels_Xtra@PeterObi You are mental sick to not respect a condolence to the dead and respect to the family but talking stupid political you are incapable of dealing with. You are simply sick.
@RepRileyMoore You are making a grave error — wasting precious time and getting people killed — by working “with” the Nigerian government.
What is happening in Nigeria is an ongoing Islamic conquest. The government is not fighting it. They are aligned with it. Top officials publicly call the terrorists “brothers” and “sons” — offer them rehabilitation and jobs.
Meanwhile Tinubu and his administration are legally guilty of genocide TODAY for the deliberate denial and systematic destruction of millions of displaced Nigerians they keep “off the books” — calling them “criminals” and “beggars,” withholding aid, and routinely bulldozing their camps.
Working with this government to end the genocide is like working with the Nazis to end the Holocaust. They are the architects of it.
They have hired conservative Republican lobbyists — more than $10 million worth — to advance the fiction that they are actually doing something. The goal is simple: run out the clock on Trump’s term.
With respect, Congressman — you have been bamboozled by smooth-talking, sociopathic criminals who are very good at this game.
I have been to the front lines of this genocide. I have met with presidents, governors, kings, senators, and countless displaced persons and frontline workers across Nigeria.
This is not a religious freedom issue. It is national security. The Old Dominion shooter two weeks ago was radicalized in Nigeria. Their stated intention is to use Nigeria as a launchpad for global jihad.
It is important you get this right.
Na comedy dem dey act. Just thinking of how dem sabi run racket as usual.
First, make we clear something with facts. Nigeria no get problem producing doctors. Every year, Nigerian medical schools graduate thousands. According to Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria data, over 80,000 doctors don dey registered historically. But wetin happen? More than half of them no dey practise for Nigeria again. Between UK, US, Canada and Saudi Arabia alone, tens of thousands of Nigerian-trained doctors don relocate in the last decade. For UK alone, over 10,000 Nigerian doctors dey on their register. So the problem no be production. The problem na retention.
You fit produce 5,000 doctors every year, but if 3,000 to 4,000 of them dey japa annually, the bucket go still empty. Why dem dey run? Poor salary, unpaid arrears, no equipment, no residency slots, hospitals without basic consumables, insecurity, and zero welfare structure. Some doctors dey work 36-hour shifts with no stable power supply, no functional ICU, no accommodation, nothing. You wan retain professional like that?
Creating another Armed Forces College of Medicine no solve that structural leakage. Na like you dey pour water inside basket.
Second issue, funding. If primary healthcare allocations dey opaque, if capital expenditure for health dey ridiculously low relative to need, if billions dey budgeted but frontline facilities no see impact, then the ecosystem no stable. When oversight weak and accountability blurry, morale collapses. Doctors no dey leave because dem hate Nigeria. Dem dey leave because the system no value them.
World Health Organization recommend doctor-to-patient ratio of about 1 to 600. Nigeria dey closer to 1 to 5,000 or worse in many rural areas. But that no mean “just produce more.” It mean fix infrastructure, fix pay structure, expand residency training, upgrade equipment, enforce transparency, and create career progression pathway.
If you no fix:
• Welfare
• Working conditions
• Research funding
• Security
• Housing
• Equipment
Any new institution go just become another graduation pipeline to Heathrow.
The solution no be more certificates. The solution na environment.
Doctors no dey run from classrooms. Dem dey run from chaos.
@NC_Okonkwo@NigeriaStories You grasp too little about law and application of court judgements around the world. The same court could order that the said amount taken from British interests in Nigeria and that is very binding
In 2012, Tinubu said all sorts of things against Jonathan bad performances ranging from UNEMPLOYMENT, HUNGER, POOR ELECTRICITY and POOR INFRASTRUCTURE.
Came 2015 Under APC till date everything he blasted Jonathan for got worsened even in his own hand & eyeing 2nd tenure! 🤣
