Has United Utilities been illegally spilling sewage into Esthwaite Water in the Lake District. An investigation by @mattstaniek and @windrushwasp show what they believe are around 20 times when sewage has been pumped into the protected site.

United Utilities responded by denying there’d be any spills from the Esthwaite emergency overflow since 2017. They provided some material which they say backed up their claims that it hadn’t spilled.
@DrKerryS@Feargal_Sharkey Sadly I can’t see that thread. But yes I agree. I did then look through data and there was one designated as good (and one which was tidal which I then didn’t count). Although I’m waiting to find out why it had one ecoli rating of <10000 discarded for an ‘abnormal situation’
