@alex_kid7 @DragonSireMods From what I've heard, they are saying the OG FFVII and Advent Children already happened before the start of this game because Aeris and Sephiroth already know about those events and then some time travel may have happened. If that is true, then technically it would be a sequel.

He just developed his Soldier persona based on some of Zack's achievements and experiences by his own admission in game.

@omniroundz @Zantetzuken144 @TheOmniLiberal Cloud thought he had performed Zack's heroic actions at Nibelheim. He thought he was that cocky, cool Soldier 1st Class that Zack was. His personality conflicted with that which is why he showed the arrogance and indifference. This is a big theme of the game.
