@ARajsigl @KIN110UofR Kane purposely hit Gudas, so I would classify this as an act of violence. Instead of getting the puck and trying to make a play, he waited for Gudas to make a hit which ended up being a head shot.

@NoahSorrell4 @KIN110UofR As a professional athlete, you should know and make sure that what you are putting in your body is legal. I do not believe that he should of been nominated, as punishments should be made, if they want this poor behaviour to stop in the future.

@BriannaSwyryda @KIN110UofR I agree with others on UFC and rugby. I also think that football is a very violent sport. Every play, people are being tackled and thrown to the ground as hard as they can. Many different types of injuries are common in the sport.

@ConorMo57572235 @KIN110UofR I consider this to be quasi-criminal. It went far beyond the rules of football, but was dealt within the sport. If charges were pressed, with they easily could be, then it would be considered criminal violence. I believe that suspension w/out pay is a good punishment for this act

There's a huge wage gap between female athletes and male athletes in team sports. For example, the top WNBA salary was $117,500, compared with $37.4 million in the NBA. Female athletes train just as much as male athletes. They deserve to be treated equally. @KIN110UofR

@KIN110UofR We have to change the belief system of what people think of women in leadership roles. The only way to do this is by letting a women into a leadership role, or even just giving her an opportunity for an interview, so she can show everyone how qualified she is for the position.

@KIN110UofR I do believe that the norms of masculinity in sport and recreation are changing. Females are seen participating in more "masculine" sports such as football and males are seen participating in more "feminine" sports such as gymnastics and figure skating.

@KIN110UofR Governments can be more involved in promoting a healthy lifestyle for all Canadians by not allowing billboards to be put up that promote fast food restaurants. Everywhere, there are billboards that promote eating unhealthy foods from places like A&W just because it is easy/fast

Don Cherry was very wrong for calling people coming to Canada for a better life, “you people”, but I don’t think he should of been fired over his comment. He was just making a point about wearing a poppy to show respect for the soldiers who fought for our freedom. @KIN110UofR

@KIN110UofR All university sports in Canada are very underrepresented in the media compared to university sports in America. It is not common to see university sports in Canada being promoted. You have to go online and search to find more information about how the different teams are doing.

@KIN110UofR The media uses the most popular athletes in different sports to sell products. Although the athlete might not use the product in real life, they are pictured promoting it in the ads. Consumers think that if their favourite and best athletes are using a product, they should too.

@KIN110UofR In the 2005-2006 season of the NHL, shootouts after the end of one overtime period of regular season games were added. This was to remove ties from the game and not make the game go on forever. This allows fans to stay engaged and enjoy the game. #commercialization

@KIN110UofR It does not impact my enjoyment of professional sport. I am always way more focused on what’s going on in the game then the ads that are being shown during it.

@KIN110UofR In elementary & middle school, we had a fence around our playground and had to stay inside the fence during recess. Other then that, we just had basic rules like no fighting and no screaming.
