EU representatives never seems to miss an opportunity to speak up when the issue involves Serbs in Kosovo. Even when it comes to illegally constructed buildings, Brussels rushes to lecture Kosovo on the rule of law and calls for protecting those who violated Kosovo's laws.

But where is that same urgency when Albanians are the victims? Where are the statements on the systematic discrimination against Albanians in the Presheva Valley? Where is the outrage over the Albanian family (Berisha Family) in Zvecan whose home was illegally occupied for 28 years, and who, after finally returning to their own property, now face threats and attempted arson by Serbian criminal groups just to make them leave their own home again.

The rule of law cannot be selective. Human rights cannot depend on ethnicity. If EU chooses to amplify every Serbian grievance while remaining largely silent when Albanians face intimidation, discrimination and violence, it should not be surprised when people question its credibility and accuse it of applying double standards.

Serbia arrests a man of Istog origin because he is suspected of providing information about the mass grave in Kalludër e Vogël.

R.T. (46) was detained in Kraljevo under the charge of “espionage.” According to Serbian authorities, he collaborated with Kosovo’s intelligence services and transmitted data related to the location where the suspected remains of 23 Albanian intellectuals who disappeared in 1999 are now being excavated.

So, at the very moment when excavations for the victims begin, Belgrade treats the uncovering of the truth as an act of espionage.

This clearly shows how much they fear the truth about mass graves and justice for the missing persons.

Albanians were once again excluded from 🇷🇸’s latest recruitment of 400 new firefighters. In the municipalities of Presheva and Bujanoc, only 5 firefighters were hired, and not a single one was Albanian 🇦🇱.

This is part of a systematic pattern of discrimination, violating both minority and fundamental human rights. Equal representation cannot remain an empty promise.

Kindly reminder: Presheva's population is 95% Albanian, and yet not a single Albanian firefighter could be found 🚒

The core issue in Kosovo has never been religion. Claiming that Albanians threaten Serbian Orthodox monasteries because of their faith deliberately confuses politics with religion.

Kosovo is one of the most religiously tolerant societies in Europe. Muslims, Catholics, and Orthodox Christians have lived alongside one another for centuries. Albanian identity has historically been defined far more by language, culture, and shared national history than by religious affiliation.

No reasonable person disputes that Orthodox monasteries deserve protection. Religious and cultural heritage should be preserved regardless of who worships there. What is unacceptable, however, is the attempt to transform these sites into proof of Serbian political ownership or exclusive Serbian heritage.

These monasteries are located within the sovereign territory of the Republic of Kosovo. They enjoy legal protection and freedom of worship under Kosovo's laws. That does not give another state the right to claim political or territorial privileges over them.

Throughout the world, historic religious monuments remain part of the country in which they stand. Their religious significance does not make them the sovereign property of another nation. Applying that logic consistently would produce absurd results across Europe and beyond.

Presenting Kosovo as a place of religious persecution ignores reality. The tensions between Belgrade and Pristina are political, historical, and territorial, not a conflict between Albanians and Orthodox Christianity.

Religious freedom deserves full support. Using religion to advance political or territorial claims does not. The real debate is about sovereignty and history, not faith. Confusing those two issues only fuels division instead of contributing to an honest discussion.

The Serbian populace, left due to free will, not forced military expulsion. That’s not ethnic cleansing. There was no campaign against Serbs in Kosovo.
