Nigeria has now been delisted from the International Maths Olympiad, whose finals are happening in Shanghai, China, this July.

It is one of the most prestigious academic competitions in the world.

Nigeria can now only participate as an observer nation, while other countries can participate fully.

This was because of the Ministry of Education’s inability to fund students for 4 consecutive years through National Mathematical Center.

It’s a big shame for Nigeria.

Two days ago, I saw these students in the city of Iwo (Osun state) inside the scorching sun seeking financial aid for someone.

I had to call them to ask what exactly the problem is. I was emotional and down when I got to know they are moving around inside the hot sun because one of their teachers has been in a sick bed battling END STAGE OF CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE (CKD).

I promised to help them escalate this on the X app and hope @Wizarab10 @the_beardedsina, and @AAdeleke_01 can be of help.

The name of the teacher is KAMORUDEEN KALENI ABIODUN.
Presently admitted at St Nicholas Hospital in Lagos Mainland
