You all keep thinking CB's can actually control inflation by trying to suppress demand. Here is the problem right now. We are in a structural supply deficit across energy, metals, and ags. CB's cant fix this.
Couldn't agree more. Windfall tax on crude oil, export duty on steel and iron ore. The bureaucracy in India is just unable to let go of its socialist mindset.

Commodity super cycles are primarily driven by supply constraints. Rising interest rates/recessions do not interrupt them. On the other hand tighter money exacerbates supply disruption. Supply disruptions get worse with higher prices (due to intervention).
