Kriti Sanon’s question is a good one. I genuinely liked it.

But behind this question, she conveniently hid the fact that no one is telling her what to wear at home, while on holiday, while going to bed, or when she wakes up in the morning.

This was a commercial advertisement made to sell a product. It used a Hindu festival for that purpose.

When people found it inappropriate, it was quickly turned into an issue of “women’s freedom.”

If it is your freedom to wear whatever you want, then it is equally someone else’s freedom to call something vulgar if it appears vulgar to them.

On Holi, Surf Excel shows that it is a Hindu girl’s responsibility to escort a Muslim boy to the mosque without letting colours touch him.

On the Mahakumbh, HUL depicts elders being abandoned.

By Diwali, Tanishq starts having problems with firecrackers.

These brands want Hindu customers. They want the festive markets of Hindu festivals to boom. They freely use Hindu symbols to sell their products.

Yet they refuse to portray the festivals as they actually are.

On Bakrid, goats have been sacrificed for centuries without anyone demanding a new interpretation every year.

Why then do Hindu festivals need constant reinterpretation? Are you religious reformers?

Hindu festivals are not laboratories for your social experiments.

Whenever criticism arises, it is reframed as either a women’s issue or a moral issue in an attempt to make Hindus feel guilty.

And yes, Kriti Sanon never forgets to wear a hijab on Eid.

At that time, all her lectures on clothing freedom conveniently disappear.

If you want to sell jewellery, detergent or clothes, just sell them.

Why this compulsion to rewrite Hindu traditions for the sake of your marketing?

ABSOLUTELY WRONG!!

1. Reservation in jobs/education are not mandatory Constitutional provisions.
Supreme Court has already clarified that neither Reservation is a Constitutional right, nor it's the duty of the state to provide it.
Reservations are mere enabling provisions. They aren't "Constitutional/Fundamental rights".

2. Reservation in politics (articles 330-332) are only mandatory constitutional provisions and they had a duration of 10 yrs (article 334), which has been amended 7 times to increase duration from 10 to 80 yrs.

3. Article 16-1 (equality of opportunity for all citizens) & 15-1 (no discrimination based on caste, religion, sex, place etc) ARE the fundamental rights!

4. Articles 15-4 & 16-4 are EXCEPTION clauses, to articles 15-1 & 16-1 respectively.
Without these exception clauses, any special provision, for any community, couldn't be provided! So these clauses had to be added under these articles.
That doesn't make them mandatory provisions!
Even Dr. Ambedkar clearly said that reservation is an "exception".

5. Language of articles 15-4 & 16-4 clearly show that govts are permitted or enabled (if they want) to make any "special provision" for specific communities, one of the special provisions could be reservation!
So reservation in job/education is indeed a policy issue!

6. We are raising voice against reservation misuse, FROM LAST 5 YEARS.
-We are giving solutions (keeping 50% limit sacrosanct, creamy layer in SC/ST, subcategorization, review of list/criteria, removal of over represented castes, economic criteria consideration, removal of Muslims/Christians/Buddhists from reservation), FROM LAST 5 YEARS.

-We are debunking fake narratives, fighting against demonization of GC, FROM LAST 5 YEARS.

-We have targeted every political party (Congress, RJD, SP, BSP, DMK, TMC), FROM LAST 5 YEARS.

So just because you can't see something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist!
And just because you believe something, doesn't mean it's true!

I come from Bihar. Research how dire the situation of the Musahar community is. Their children aren't getting reservations. Why? Because those caste groups don't even have leaders... The second demand is quota within quota, on which the government has also said that we will not implement the creamy layer in it. Why will you not implement it? It is so absurd that the government is bowing down to those few Dalit leaders who only talk about their caste group... The third demand is minimum marks. You cannot sell the dream of a developed India by compromising on merit. If 50% of the deserving youth or boys and girls who are studying will not get admission in the IITs, IIMs, or higher education, your efficiency has reduced by 50% right there... Then the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) should be made a part of the Scheduled Castes (SC). The class whose definition says economically weaker, you are neither giving them a facility in buying the form, nor are you waiving their hostel fee, nor is their course fee being waived; what will you achieve by merely recognising it?... At least indicate that we are going to have a sit-down talk about this..."
