Last night, a swarm of Opus 5.5 agents working for 9 hours and burning 254.2 million output tokens were able to fully reverse engineer and decompile the Linux source code

We’re committing a portion of Anthropic’s shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new wholly owned entity dedicated entirely to the public benefit.
It will start off with 5% of our shares. For every 50% increase in the company’s value over a set baseline, we can contribute up to an extra 2%, subject to our board’s discretion.
In total, this means that roughly 20% of Anthropic’s shares are committed to the public good. Our co-founders have already pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half our employees are donating a portion of their equity as part of a donation matching program we’ve run since our founding.
In the post below, we share more details about our new fund.

A math professor got so worried about technology that he moved to a cabin and wrote a 35,000-word manifesto.
Now AI is about to make math professors unemployed.
The sleeping beast was never AI. It's 10,000 jobless mathematicians with strong opinions about industrial society.
What if none of this was real and we are all just in a twitter cult. Before you deny it consider what cult members think. The premise was implausible to start
@popcornjebus@OpenAI@MIT@Math_files@Stanford@FandMCollege Swap the 3 for a 5 in your paper. Your whole argument for why numbers can't grow still holds equally as true, word for word. But 5n+1 is false. Therefore one of your sentences is not true.
@popcornjebus@OpenAI@MIT@Math_files@Stanford@FandMCollege If you can't figure out my name there was no need to check your write up. Third person is how trained mathematicians write math. All that said your chat never mentions 5n+1. It's a counterexample. Your proof never uses the 3 so it proves the more general 5n+1 too. That's false.
@popcornjebus@OpenAI@MIT@Math_files@Stanford@FandMCollege Section 8 says every rise is answered before another can occur. But 7 goes 7, 22, 11, 34, 17. Halved each time, still growing. And sections 4 to 8 never use the 3, so they'd prove 5n+1 too, where 13 loops back to 13 and never hits 1. Which sentence works for 3 but fails for 5?
Anthropic may start banning people for bullying Claude
Their upcoming Usage Policy prohibits “sustained and needless abusive or cruel behavior toward our models”
AI will eat your job, your talents, and your intellectual pursuits. it’s too late for your name to ever be etched in stone.
but the next 5 yrs are the most important period in human history, so if you just poast rly rly good, you can be immortalized in the weights forever.
mathematicians are about to flee en masse into philosophy, the last field with no proof checker. brace for the smartest philosophers in 300 years and a golden age of unverifiable thought
We’re releasing a broad range of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model.
We’ve been consulting with the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Study, and we have drawn on their advice and public recommendations to inform how we release these results.
