@GaryWhite1997@OCowzer Yea but thats my point, they still played them because boycotts are not an actual thing in a UEFA mandated games. While in Ireland we're acting like we can refuse to play the game award Israel 3 points without major repercussions for football in this country.
@GaryWhite1997@OCowzer I 100% support a ban but Kosovo, Switzerland, Romania, Andorra, Iceland, Hungary, Belarus, Belgium, Italy, France, Estonia, Slovakia, Moldova, Norway, Lithuania, Georgia and Albania have all played israel since oct 7th. Most of Europe have no problem playing them.
@GaryWhite1997@OCowzer You think Bosnia and Austria wont object to us randomly deciding to award Israel points without playing them, they will object and we'll be expelled and righly so.
@GaryWhite1997@OCowzer Boycotts aren't a thing in football. You can just decide to who award 3 points to. Thats not how sports works. Croatia played Yugoslavia in 1999 and Serbia in 2014 but somehow you think we can just decide to award 3 points to Israel and not be suspended.
@georgied84@McDonnellDan Israel had played 22 fixtures, all against European opponents since the bombing of Gaza began. Not one player boycotted the games during the worst of the bombing but you want our players to boycott a game leading to our expulsion from European football during a cease fire.
@VMSportIE Refusing to play in an UEFA mandated match is not a thing. You can just decide who to award 3 points too. This will lead rightly to our expulsion from European football. I suppose we could play Russia once a year in the Aliminum Cup.
@KillianM2@garrethmcdaid Why wouldn't it? Israel have played 22 fixtures all against European teams since they started bombing Gaza. No boycotts. Now there's a cease fire and we're refusing to play them. Croatia played Yugoslavia in 1999 and Serbia in 2013, but we wont play the jewish state.
@amerson_2@covie_93 So Trump who campaigned on deflation, promising the price of "groceries" and gasoline would go down just added another 4% to the Biden inflation. What a shitty president.
@ridgetopmo@Logically_JC The US government spends $14,885 per capita on healthcare, the highest in the world, Norway only spends $9,393. Maybe handing over your healthcare system to greedy corporations that are raking in billions might be the reason why healhcare is so expensive in the US.
@LifeOfBOS@karldeeter Giving €400,000 forever homes to people that are not even Irish citizens and have contributed absolutely nothing to the country is probably the most moronic policy of any government anywhere.
@rganel@RepJoshG Really? Last I checked, Ireland has a Muslim population of 88,000 while the US has over 4.5 million. The US has 4 muslim members of congress and has elected 6 muslim mayors including its largest city. That figure in ireland is zero. The US is much closer to sharia law than Ire.
@IrishTimes Amazing that dim wits like this think we can just boycott an UEFA mandated game, that not a thing. We cant just decide who to award 3 points to. We will be expelled from European competition. I suppose we could play Russia in the Aliminum Cup annually.
@YdissacLuap@LeftistDad@RTEsport@rtenews The FAI are already near insolvent, expulsion would have serious repercussions for youth football and the women's game in this country.
