@Haighterade89@AC503212@G33B@BlazersLead Can you do me a favor and find me the figure showing them close to the lowest? Their 2025 revenue was $361 million which was more than the Thunder, Bucks, and Wolves.
@blackjackalware@RTNBA@johnhollinger Bulls, Pacers, and Grizzlies will want to have a chat about TV market, and the ST Louis TV market is smaller than Portland. It would be a move just to move, and that would be several billion dollars of investment required.
@HuskyBlazerFan@AaronJFentress@gbellseattle Plus, the ownership group that bought the team had a viable TV market to move the team to. They also moved the goalpost in a different way than cheapo. Like if he came in and was saying “forget 300 million, I demand a 1.5 billion stadium now or we’re leaving” that would be closer
@TheTyJager Like, he’s taking a cut with the expectation that the owners dish out crazy tax penalties for our core with Bird Rights. They can’t use his contact as an excuse now
@dwightjaynes The first step is petitioning the league for a viability study, which includes the negative impact on broadcast footprints, and then they have to get 23 of 30 owners to support the relocation. In 40 years, only 4 teams have moved, including the Nets jumping across the river.
I believe a lot of owners with money heavily invested in specific regions would find it highly preferable to keep a new team out of their Market. No one wants another team in their back yard
@kcschmidy@Return2RFK@dwightjaynes Seattle and Vegas are likely already adding Expansion Teams, Austin is part of the Spurs TV Market and will not be getting a team. Nashville is in the Grizzlies market and they won’t vote to cannibalize that market. Same with adding another North Carolina team.
@75aquariusNR Serotonin vs Dopamine. Feels so fucking good to get that “spurs trade the farm for KD” notification, but then you get no long term joy from a dude on your team who hates being on your team and doesn’t buy into the culture.
