It's been a while... but I'm back to ask what in the world is up with regalia costing upwards of $1000?? Is that normal? Has that always been the case? It feels exploitative! @AcademicDilemma@AcademicMamas#PhDone
Just a reminder that you are not less ambitious, less of a hard worker, or less deserving of promotion if you set boundaries around work and protect your time for family, friends, hobbies, chores, and personal things.
Work is only one part of life, and is not your whole life.
Being "pro-family" starts with:
🚑 Bringing down health care and prescription drug costs
🧸 Investing in affordable childcare and universal pre-K
👷♂️ Creating more good jobs that pay a fair wage
And, of course:
💵 Passing a working-class tax cut to get parents some relief ASAP

Just spent 3 hours writing and rewriting a single sentence in my dis. proposal to perfect it only to realize all of the rewriting made it completely unrelated to the point I was trying to make. So that's how my morning's going. At this rate I'll be done by 2050. #AcademicWriting
