Top Tip Tuesday ♻️

Please do not put compostable packaging into your food waste caddy. 🍞🍎🥕🦴

Devon's food waste is processed through anaerobic digestion, not composting, and compostable packaging does not break down properly.

If your compostable packaging has the 'HOME OK Compost' logo, it can go into your compost bin at home. Otherwise, pop it in the general waste bin. ✅

🤔 Wondering about your caddy liner? All liners (including compostable ones) are removed before processing, so you can use any bag to line your food waste caddy. Used salad, bread or cereal bags are all great money-saving options!

The Recycle Devon Reuse Fund 2026-27 is still open for applications! 🤩

🔁 Designed to seed and support schemes promoting reuse across Devon, such as Repair Cafés, Libraries of Things and clothes swap events.

The fund is open to projects based in East Devon, Exeter, Mid Devon, North Devon, South Hams, Teignbridge, Torridge, and West Devon.

📆 Closing date is Tuesday the 30th of June.

Did you know that different types of glass are processed and recycled differently? ♻

This is why some glass needs to go to the Recycling Centre to be recycled!

🏠 Glass jars and bottles can be recycled at home (or via bottle banks for Exeter residents)
