@VKuliecza Hi Veronica! I agree that TikTok has made students less inclined to watch longer forms of media intently. I find myself skipping a video on TikTok if I am not entertained within the first 15 seconds!
@faberCodes Agreed! I believe it is essential for our education system to adapt with technological advances in order to keep students engaged. My brother is in high school and is required to incorporate video game logic in his engineering class already!
@AmithiPathak I believe that as technology becomes more ingrained in our lives, there will be a wave of individuals that wish to not live over digitized lives! I think this could result in a mass amount of people using less technology.
In the future, I believe that virtual reality will become a key component in our education system. Meaning that VR will change how educators teach and students learn. #DCIM353McCormick
One of my biggest take-aways from this class was the concept of media evolution, that highlights how every disruptive technology has stemmed from a serious of previous technological devices. I now find this theme to be a constant in every tech I use!#DCIM353McCormick
@sophiapannella1 I completely agree with this and believe that the exam might also discuss how messages can be misread over text due to lack of context.
@rylayru Hi Ryan! It seems as though Airbnb has become even more popular post-pandemic because it makes people feel more comfortable than if they were to stay at a hotel with hundreds of others. It also provides a sense of privacy and exclusivity like never before.
@MarinaDCIM Hi Marina! I love this topic especially because I have incorporated ride sharing apps into my everyday life. It's also interesting how these companies, like Uber for example have also entered the food delivery business. I wonder how this has impacted a restaurants profits.
@ray_godsly I believe one of the reasons streaming services are so successful is because they are designed to allow people to binge watch their favorite shows. An example of this that we discussed in class is the Netflix Original Stranger Things that releases all episodes at once.
For my EDTP project, I plan to discuss social media while focusing on how TikTok has emerged to popularity and influenced other social platforms as well. TikTok was launched in 2016 but became a more mainstream app around 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic. #DCIM353McCormick
@aliyar_ru Hi Aliya! I feel as though our modern digital era has presented better opportunities for human rights movements to reach a broader audience. This is so beneficial in spreading awareness, as we have seen from the #metoomovement among others.
@thesophiaverse Hi Sophia! This is such an interesting topic to discuss. It seems as though people are very quick to judge and point fingers without knowing all the facts. This has become even more intense through the use of social media where a mob mentality can be created behind a screen.
@kgps60 Hi Kenneth! I love this article and see this trend in our generation. I only made a Facebook account so that I could follow my aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. to keep tabs on their life. However, I use Instagram to communicate with friends.

A social norm that has changed since the rise of the digital age and especially in the aftermath of the COVID-19 Pandemic is working from home as opposed to working in an office Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm.
