#DCIM353McCormick In this class, I learned just how interactive Twitter can be, and how it can facilitate communication with other students in hybrid or fully remote classes. I think it was really interesting to get to hear other people’s ideas and perspectives.
#DCIM353McCormick One of the takeaways I got from this course was that disruption is not always harmful. While the word tends to have a negative connotation, disruptive technology can actually improve aspects of society. But, it is also complex and can have pros and cons.
#DCIM353McCormick Statista estimates that this number will increase to 75% in 2025. I predict this percentage will continue to increase in the near future, but maybe to a smaller degree. https://t.co/G8UkyJvC5L
#DCIM353McCormick Alexa, Amazon’s voice assistant technology, has grown in popularity immensely since it first came out in 2014. In 2018, about 28% of American households own a smart speaker. Today, it is estimated that it has reached 60%.
@BenemeritoMarc I agree that that is a really important topic to remember that might be overlooked. It is also important to remember Clayton Christensen’s ideas on disruptive technology.
@Jesshandzo I agree that these are very important topics to remember for the exam. I remember one of our first twitter assignments for this class was identifying a low-end and new-market disruptive technology.
@refai_reshma These are all important things to remember for the exam! I also mentioned the five criteria that make an innovation disruptive because it’s such an important topic for this class!
It is important to remember the five criteria for disruptive change for Test 1. The five criteria are audience, culture, speed, scale, and impact. An innovation must apply to each criteria in order to be considered disruptive. #DCIM353McCormick

@valdecicco I completely agree that video calls and communicating through platforms like zoom will continue to grow in popularity. I think after the pandemic eventually ends, video calls will continue to be a main form of communication as it is convenient.
@ompatilru I agree that workout technologies will continue to gain popularity in the future. They are appealing to many people because they are convenient and can save you money in the long run as compared to having a gym membership.
@AAelsais I agree that the upward trend in using self-driving cars will lead to less car accidents, causing driving to be generally safer. But, I think these cars come with their own risks and cons.
@NickR54299440 I totally agree that it’s really important to understand the bus system at Rutgers. It was one of the first things I had to learn as a freshman a couple years ago. It’s so important to familiarize yourself with it so you can make it to your classes on time!
