am reaching out on the situation involving the 7 Officers and 4 airmen of the Nigerian Air Force who have been detained alongside their Lockheed C-130 Hercules aircraft since Monday in Barkina Faso
As you may know, the aircraft was on a ferry mission to Portugal when it developed a technical issue shortly after takeoff from Lagos, prompting a precautionary landing in Burkina Faso
Contrary to reports from the government claiming that the crew had been released on Tuesday to continue their journey, the team is still being held by Burkina Faso authorities. This is largely because the federal government has not yet reached out officially to clarify their mission.
The officers and airmen detained have no contact their families or any updates from the NAF and FG.
All that is required at this point is for the Federal Government to formally communicate with the Burkinabe authorities to confirm that the crew was on an authorized mission to Portugal and had no involvement whatsoever in the Benin air operations.
We are seeking suppoet to raise awareness and hold the government accountable so that prompt action is taken.
The earlier reports about their release by NAF is false they are still detained.
I am happy to provide further updates.

If a policy has zero tangible impact on the people living under it, repeating it like an achievement doesn’t suddenly make it meaningful.
A 30% CIT that has existed for nearly three decades is not a reform, and announcing a future reduction to 25%, without fixing the hostile business environment, multiple taxation, unstable FX, and crippling energy costs, changes nothing for real businesses today.
Investment doesn’t come because of headlines; it comes because the environment supports growth. Until Nigeria tackles the fundamentals, no “CIT cut” narrative will magically attract FDI or expand domestic capacity.
Let’s focus on realities, not press-release economics.
The BusinessDay news didn't say the 30% was new.
They said it beats the global average and Nigeria risks FDI. Is that correct or not?
That said, a reduction to 25% is very positive and good (which should actually be emphasised across media outlets). But the figure is still high relative to the figure quoted by Businessday as the global average.
Dear @BusinessDayNg,
Nigeria’s Company Income Tax (CIT) rate has been 30% for the past 30 years (since 1996). So the rate is not new. What is new is that under the new tax laws, Nigeria is set to reduce the CIT rate from 30% to 25%.
In many jurisdictions, even a 1% cut in CIT would be headline news. Yet we seem oddly determined to frame positive reforms negatively. Why not a headline that reads:
“𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐃𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐮𝐭 𝐂𝐈𝐓 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 30% 𝐭𝐨 25% 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 2026.”

POP Man Shocked as Senator Natasha Gifts Him the Duplex He Worked On😱😳🥶🕺🏾
According to Senator Natasha, the man she surprised with a beautifully finished duplex had no idea he was actually doing the POP work for his own house.
He showed up every day, committed to his craft, thinking he was simply delivering quality work for a client.
But unknown to him, every ceiling he shaped… every corner he perfected… was a silent gift being prepared for his own future.
