@nwilliams030 Blueprint Homeschooling by Amy Knepper is great for figuring out the “whys” that are unique to your family and helping you find curriculum and rhythms that support that.
@TylerLeeConway@VinesMatthew Those tempted to steal should get a job and share. Those tempted to adultery should love their spouse. Those tempted to lie should tell the truth. Those who are tempted to anger should pursue peace and self-control.
@NeilShenvi Tell your fellow PhDs that you plan to send your kids to trade school instead of college, or even to go to Vo-Tech instead of traditional high school. Watch their reactions.
@mom_of_littles Ten years ago I brought my son to be evaluated. He fit the criteria, but our pediatrician told me that since we homeschool, and I could accommodate his learning, that she recommended not medicating. Said she would NEVER medicate her child if she could homeschool. (he’s fine now)
@collinhansen At some point you will have to stop blaming Trump for everything. Where have the TGC conferences and panels been on abortion? Did I miss them?
@feelsdesperate No, that block is nothing like the cheap row houses you can just gut and rehab. It’s by the towers and on a quiet inner historic block.
I’m so unbelievably sad that the CDC is losing all the folks who told me if I follow the arrows on the floor at the grocery store then I won’t get COVID.
@BiblicalBeauty Co-op is great! But our classical co-op leaves little time for just doing fun educational things together—too much emphasis on keeping up with the class.
I also wish I’d tried harder to teach them cursive.
@BiblicalBeauty I did homeschooling at home until my oldest hit 7th grade, then we switched to co-op. In retrospect, I wish I’d kept my youngest just at home longer. The best years were when I could tailor everything to our needs and also make time to go places.
@farmingandJesus@butlerpartyof9 These can be fun for 8yo kids who know how to use their imagination. My kids would build forts/guns etc with them. But they will seem like toddler toys to him if not. Smaller legos are always fun at that age!
