@michelletandler@ShellenbergerMD Their are several fundamental issues facing SF in regards to Public Health/Safety. The first of which is the barrier to entry for services/harm reduction. SF subsidizes drug use which attracts a high number of people looking for the drug scene.
Californians: Weโd like an end to rampant homelessness, skyrocketing crime, soul crushing gas prices, the ability to buy a home, and send our kids to a school to get a decent education.
Democrat supermajority: Best we can do is pass a law that will force goat herders out of business that do invaluable wildfire prevention in the state.
@David_J_Bier Interesting article. People in similar situations are in a tough spot. If the government would have upheld their bargain 86, Stopping illegal immigration, these situations would be easy. Legal immigration should be easier. Illegal immigration should be impossible.
@Twolfrecovery@garrytan Convert all of the โsocialโ housing back to market rate and most problems go away. Recovery housing should be far away from the City.
@veroderugy Since we have given illegal immigration social benefits, I would also note Friedmanโs take that you canโt have open immigration and left welfare policies. Much of the panic is caused by the above, and I wish I could hear the practical Friedman on this.
