The irony that @paulbristow79 is tearing apart @NikJohnsonCA plans; which are in line with Conservative policy is not lost on us
This is the reality of transport in Peterborough

AT LAST!
The barriers that failed the equalities act have been removed.
It may have taken 370 days. It may just be a barrier.
But it makes a BIG difference.
Cargo bikes, mobility scooters, hand cycles, pushchairs can now all easily get through.
👏🏽
Advice please.
What does LTN1/20 say on new foot/cycle bridge in prominent city centre location, no physical constraints, likely to be very busy. Can 4m wide, shared use be compliant?
@camcycle@activetraveleng @Sustrans @bricycle @RantyHighwayman @citycyclists @WeAreCyclingUK
How much scrutiny did @CambsPboroCA Board do on the business case?
We’ve now read it & there is little if any evidence that this scheme will cut car trips.
Misleading press release from @PeterboroughCC & coverage from @peterboroughtel?
Useful to see annual traffic scorecard from @INRIX.

Traffic in #Peterborough has increased by 20% since 2019.
Very relevant to @CambsPboroCA commitment to reduce motor vehicle miles by 15% by 2030 from 2019 baseline.
🧵
That’s very kind @camcycle.
Thank you for your help & support.
We will continue to do all we can to help people in #Peterborough who already ride, or would like to start riding a bicycle in our City.
Liam Brown of Rossett Avenue, Blackpool pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice & disqualified driving after he deliberately rode a 🏍️ at high speed past speed cameras.
You might think that's a bit daft (and you'd be right), but not our Liam! Our Liam had a plan!💡
@PboroCycling@PeterboroughCC Sadly, we all know the problem is that there's significant anti-cycling feeling at the top of the council. It's on record over & over again: an outdated attitude that cycling is a family leisure activity that has no business outside parks & trails.

Two months since @PeterboroughCC responded to our FOI confirming they were in breach of the Equalities Act and the barrier was going to be removed.
But it’s still there.
Anything you can do to speed this up @paulbristow79@Cllrfitzgerald@NikJohnsonCA?
It's really important that we learn more about the different cycling challenges and opportunities in our region, so we want to get out and about as much as possible across rural and urban areas.
This is Peterborough's Crescent Bridge. Where should we visit next?
@PboroCycling I agree. In many locations the barriers serve no real safety purpose and are set so close to each other as to be a real impediment to cyclists. @peterboroughcc needs to address this issue and start removing unnecessary barriers
Support our friends at @ElyCycle by objecting to this developer's proposal to remove a planning obligation to provide a new cycleway along Lynn Road into Ely city centre. It's a much-needed new route in @EastCambs.
