A thing I noticed about progressives years ago: their belief in credentialism means they take in any and all information with at least one remove. They won't engage with ideology directly, they don't read their opponents, they avoid primary sources. They don't know their enemy.
@stephenehorn I don't think they understand that they are in fact the butt of these jokes, not the foreigners. The world is complex and often rather ugly but they childishly cling to naive simplicity.
@stephenehorn Strangely, they actually included the phrase in the article, but still felt the text needed to be removed from the image.
(As an aside, the article itself is pointless and barely says anything at all other than 'racist memes exist'.)
Racist memes are the new n-word
Apparently a research paper has to censor the text "I'm sorry that your daughter was raped by a retarded cannibal but we need him for the football team"
It's just too memetically powerful for them to put on paper, even in an academic context
There were earlier signs that Obama lacks taste. Their Vineyard mansion is tacky. The “book lists” never conveyed any understanding or even perception of more challenging literary or historical ideas. There’s a reason midwit arrogance thrived (festered) during his era.
Imagine an image so powerful you have to modify it lest the viewer instantly understands something that had been hidden from them by every other media source
Never underestimate the power of memes
