Even though it is not clear from the Slovakian government's behaviour, thousands of people in the streets today across the country clearly showed that these three flags belong together 🇸🇰🇪🇺🇺🇦

“We need people who seek to unite rather than divide, who see the other side as part of the solution rather than part of the problem. In short, we need bridge-builders in politics, business, society and science.” ETH President @Joel_Mesot at #ETHDay 2024
Carbon capture instead of stopping oil & gas
EVs instead of reducing car dependency
Ocean cleanups instead of stopping plastic production
Planting trees instead of ending deforestation
Ever notice how all the fashionable 'solutions' are all aimed at not changing anything?

525 private jets departed from three airports around Las Vegas after the completion of Super Bowl.
- Flights departed for 173 airports across 9 countries
- Average flight time was 2 hours 1 minute
- 81 flights made an hour journey to Airports around Los Angeles
- Shortest flight was from North Las Vegas Airport to Kingman which flew for 29 minutes
- The longest was 13 hours and 20 minutes to Ishigaki, Japan
For comparison, an hour flight of private jet can emit 2-4 tons of CO2, Whereas an average person leaves carbon footprint of around 4.7 tons in year.
Flights represents 2.5% of the world’s carbon emissions yet only 1% of the world’s population are responsible for about 50% of all aviation emissions. Also, private jets are up to 14 times more polluting, per individual, than commercial planes, according to reporting by Transport and the Environment.
✅Next Wednesday (17 Jan), our #WSLBiodiversitySeminar Series starts again. We have an excellent lineup of internal & external speakers covering basic & applied research.
Our seminars are hybrid, and you're most welcome to join us in person or online!

Dear Min. of Environment of the SK @TomasTaraba1, we know you don´t believe in climate change and you are busy with hoaxing but please, next time select some other of your friend for a director that, at least, do not murdered the animals and clear-cutted half of the forests.
Congrats to Peter Olexa for being the director of Tatra National Park only for two!! weeks.
Reason for his dismissal? Convinced as a poacher for illegally shooting a wolf and keeping its skeleton!
