Monitor Publication Ltd, is owned by NMG, as well as 5 other minority shareholders.
Winding up of Monitor PL, will need a board resolution, of which stakeholders with more money to loose won't accept.
@adoniaayebare@wekesa_amos@DianaAtwine@CHRISBARYOMUNS1@KagutaMuseveni Trade & travel restrictions may prevent international spread of Ebola, but will create a negative impact on the economy of DRC/UG.
The DG of WHO is collectively bound by the decision of the Emergency Committee and can not act independently.
Just hang in tight for nxt 2 months.
@adoniaayebare@wekesa_amos@DianaAtwine@CHRISBARYOMUNS1@KagutaMuseveni This PHEIC declaration is a learning curve for health authorities round the world. And it's a call for discussions on the powers of the DG of WHO to declare a PHEIC.
Accurate scientific data shld be obtained beforehand; which wasn't the case.
Looks like a fundraising scheme!
@IvanTwino1 Those rocks at the junction (last 2km) are tyre hazards..
Its a challenge for most roads in Uganda.. imagine, I had to short cut thru kasangati to matugga on my way to Janan school Bombo. The dust, stones and construction trucks were too much for my midsized car..
This is Ug
@Imonaar 1. Why can't blood serum Extracted from a recovered Ebola survivor be used to fight the virus in new patients?
2. Do Ebola survivor posses virial immunity against future attacks. (Same like vaccicnation)
3. What palliative care or medication is administered to Ebola patients?
@ChandaChema02@kmpdu Health workers are at higher risk to contract the disease via contact with symptomatic patients..
Google the story of Dr. Lukwiya Mathew (MHSRIP) a Ugandan physician & Med. Sup. of Lacor Hospital- Ug. who died at the front line fighting the 1st wave of Ebola in Ug. early 2000s
@Kwach_ @andrewsuleh@jumamaxip NB: for recovered patients the dormant virus remains for about 3months (NO sex or breastfeeding).
Recovered patients possess immunity from future outbreaks.
Serum from Recovered patients can be used to treat new cases! (Not recommended, due to presence of other pathogens)
@Kwach_ @andrewsuleh@jumamaxip Luckily it is spread is ltd to body fluid contact with symptomatic persons. (Although a contact can carrying for 5 - 8 days)
The Ebola virus has to run out of new hosts, or encounter wide spread sterile environment (Soap, JIK, sanitisers usage) to be pushed to dormant phase.!
@Ebola_Updates Is the USA & Canada government right to ban entry for UG & DRC citizens?
Well, its fear of the unknown.
With no vaccine, the virus has to run out of new hosts or encounter wide spread sterile environment. (Jik, soap, sanitisers usage) before it can go back to dormant phase.
@Ebola_Updates Fear of the unknown!
Ebola B.. is a major health threat (no vaccine, no medication, alarming fatality rate of 30%, + the virus can survive for 4hrs on dry surface! Let alone 5daysin dead body!)
spread to new host is relatively low.. body fluids contact with symptomatic Patient

@Ebola_Updates Every 5 - 7years, the Ebola virus cycle returns to Africa.
Lots reasons cause this phenomenon. (Except withdraw of aid!)
No amount of USAID dollars or presence will prevent the cycle.. But rather empowering local African Health systems to combat various pathogens present.
@elonmusk@magattew Exactly..
African culture, life style, & brotherhood is much stronger.
We see lots of scare mongering about Ebola outbreak. (Yes, the threat is alive is Congo, + few neighbouring countries) but nature and the health systems will prevail as has been.. no need for foreign Aid.!
@Uganda_Expozed 1. Those lions select their prey. ( boda guys ride past them!)
2. Kindly focus on local tourism for next 3months; ebola is going to keep foreign clients away. (Affordable local packages)
3. No rule against using personnel car in the park.
Only error. Is getting out of car!
@KrutikaKuppalli@WHO The status "suspected" simply implies any patient or deceased person exhibiting similar systems with ebola.
Due to limited testing kits & laboratories in the ituri region, (let alone access) many patients end up classified falsely.
WHO presence in DRC is limited, to med. outpost
