We appreciate the expedience of the Criminal District Court judges in recusing the entire bench this morning. Their swift action reflects the unusual and troubling nature of this indictment.
We look forward to a vigorous defense of the AG.

"This has smoke all over the place. (There are) a lot of red flags everywhere," All Things Legal host Doug Sunseri said, adding that the investigation into the New Orleans grand jury that indicted Liz Murill could last "for the next year or two." | WWL

🚨 The lawfare continues! The special prosecutor in New Orleans refuses to remove the active warrant for the arrest of the Attorney General, even though the Louisiana Supreme Court has stayed the indictment. I have once again filed an emergency appeal with the Supreme Court.
The #lalege Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a meeting on 9.11.2025 to look into the bench trials conducted in Orleans Parish in which the DA’s office put on no testimony or other evidence, made no opening statement & no closing argument resulting in multiple acquittals
@blakearcuri and I got to spend the last couple days teaching these amazing new @LAStatePolice cadets. Today we got a surprise visit from Col. Hodges. His leadership has been transformative for the Louisiana State Police. 💪
Today is the day! LSP Cadet Class 106 assembled this morning for their class photo. In a little over an hour, they will begin their graduation ceremonies as they near the finish line to become State Troopers.
🔥 "Will I release this violent criminal? They're deciding to do so all the time. WAY more than 10 every few years." Former Orleans Prosecutor Laura Rodrigue brings receipts on Orleans DA & judges whose same broken ideology fuels the jail chaos. #lalege#lagov@BayouMamaBears
We are pleased to see @CivilRights retract the letter haphazardly issued regarding the @LAStatePolice on the former administration's way out of office. The investigation we were involved in showed that LSP has greatly improved its self-policing and protecting citizens' rights.
The Civil Rights Division will also be closing its investigations into, and retracting the Biden administration’s findings of constitutional violations on the part of, the following additional local police departments:
▪️Phoenix, Arizona
▪️Trenton, New Jersey
▪️Memphis, Tennessee
▪️Mount Vernon, New York
▪️Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
▪️Louisiana State Police
It was an honor to teach courtroom testimony with Marko Marjanovic to the @JeffParishSO cadet class. A great group which will protect and serve JP for years to come. @LauraCannizzRod@blakearcuri
This was put out by the United States Dept. of Justice in 1980 under President Jimmy Carter. And we’re STILL addressing the same problems…

Under LA law, the driver in this video allegedly claimed $1.5M in damages. #HB450 by Rep. Melerine aims to reform the Housley Presumption, curb system abuse, and lower insurance costs. Claimant's lawyer wants 'Top Dollar' while Louisiana citizens pay 'Top Cost' for premiums. #lalege #lagov @MichaelMelerine
@morrisbart If you post evidence of my ass kicking by your office (trial, MSJ, or me paying you money), I'll donate $1,000 to a charity of your choice.
And likewise, if you can't back that statement up, you donate $1,000 to a charity I pick.
Deal?
@RodrigueArcuri
🧵(4)Courts are flooded with cases like this every day. HB24 will correct the Housely presumption and make this driver prove that any injury was actually caused by the minor collision and was not pre-existing or the effects of old age. These types of cases are the biggest problem in Louisiana and HB24 fixes that.
We should all support legislation that matters.
As tort reform takes center stage, knowing what will actually make a difference matters. Below is dashcam footage from a minor collision. ⬇️ The driver got a lawyer. Continue through this thread to see how this minor accident plays out. 🧵
🧵(3) His attorney sent a letter demanding $1.5 million, and also sent an email stating, "[y]ou should keep in mind that [driver] is going to have the benefit of the Housely presumption in proving causation." In this case, that means that any injury he had must have been caused by this minor collision.
