• But the firm’s own rule shown here states that traders cannot open or close trades within 5 minutes before or 5 minutes after the news release.

• The trade was opened at 15:17:01 and closed at 15:35:45, while the news was scheduled for 15:30.

• That means the position was opened more than 5 minutes before the news and closed more than 5 minutes after it.

• The key question is simple: does holding a position through news constitute a violation when the stated rule specifically restricts opening and closing trades within the 10-minute window?

• The exact wording of the rules matters when a payout is being invalidated.
