This week (without removing my hat as a research scientist), I wear my legal hat as a Lawyer/Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, attending the @LawSocietyofKe Annual Conference at Diani Beach with the Theme: “#ClimateChange: From Theory to Action, the Role of the Legal Profession in #ClimateJustice.”
This morning at LSK Women’s Breakfast, the focus is “The Role that Women Play in Tackling #ClimateChange. Women’s Leadership. The session is sponsored by @fidakenya, @FordFoundation, @ReproRightsUN, @edwinsifuna
Participating in this conference is so timely as we @aphrc engage on a journey in exploring & understanding the linkages between #climatechange & #health, on my part focusing on the interlinkages with ecological health, food systems & nutrition & other health issues.
It is timely in light of our recent grant from the @wellcometrust to make visible the impacts of climate change on health in drylands in Eastern Africa. #Visibilize4Action Project. Hopefully this research project could inform exploration of the @UNFCCC Loss & Damage Fund from a #ClimateJustice perspective.
Speakers at the Women’s Breakfast session include #NancyIkinu, Leader of @fidakenya Prof #KameriMbote Director of the Law Division at @UNEP, #BettySungura of @NGECKenya, & #ChristineKungu of Kenya School of Law among others.

Today, I lost a teacher who has taught more than 10 generations of doctors in this country; it doesn't just hurt, it breaks me
Tomorrow(Friday Nov 20) is #WorldChildrensDay. World leaders must acknowledge that around a quarter of the world’s children are physically stunted because of poor nutrition. Investing in nutrition today will help people, communities and countries thrive tomorrow.@FundNutrition
