I get why training/certification orgs lie about these sorts of things, but when you see non-profits parroting these lines it gets ... confusing. Would be worth someone spending the time tracking down the many incentives for the various groups that perpetuate this nonsense.
Can we PLEASE stop with the "there's 750,000 unfilled cybersecurity jobs in the US?"
I don't care what the "official" numbers are because it's certainly not reflective of the job market.
#PicoCTF is just days away!!
To encourage participation, I created my FIRST YouTube video to help beginners get up to speed by solving 12 #ReverseEngineering challenges on their platform SLOWLY.
I hope it gives someone confidence to try these problems 😃

Absolutely 🔥 writeup on the i-Soon leaks
https://t.co/xTkjlE4efs
Great insight into the actual meaningful takeaways we can learn from the leak, but at Roppers we are most excited about the clear ties drawn between the 🇨🇳 CTF community and hacking companies.

Roppers strongly opposes this press release: memory safety is a skill issue. At Roppers, we support the second amendment right granted to us by the Founding Fathers to rip out a couple hundred lines of C and push to main.
What I'm saying is the official position of Roppers Academy as an educational organization is write C well, and get good. "Get good" is the important part, not rewriting in Rust.
📢Registration is open for picoCTF 2024!

CTF was my gateway drug into computer security… so I’d be careful with those links ;)
And what I told Ryan is true — when I joined @rpisec in college I didn’t what x86 was & they refused to give me a disassembler until I wrote a buffer overflow exploit with objdump -d -M intel
I asked DEF CON CTF organizer Perri Adams about the make-up of a good capture-the-flag player and for recommendations for someone now getting started @perribus
Check out our new(ish) Technical Security Fundamentals course! This course assumes some strong command-line skills and teaches how computer security really works! https://t.co/SWMxkD8qNG
If you are a teacher and are interested in learning how I can help you teach this material, hit me up! If you know teachers who might be interested in this, get me in contact with them! It's going to be hard to get the first adopters and build momentum, but it will be worth it.
While we haven't been tweeting, Roppers is still going strong! Check out our new effort intended to help teachers supplement their existing curriculum with self-guided computing and security training!

These changes are important steps towards making Roppers easier to incorporate into classrooms around the world. The next main steps will be getting the Roppers Teaching Guides completely nailed down and actually finding the brave teachers who want to try out the material.
