@BeardedHalfling A hidden dice roll prevents the player from knowing if the enemy success or failure is the result of their skill, or the dice roll.

Rolled a 22 to hit? Did they have a large modifier, or did they just get lucky with the dice roll?

Keeps the tension alive.

Older players, Probably not enough substance for a long run, but a decent short game
