@CarlBthatisme Holocaust is a compound word: whole + burn.
It is in the Septuagint, so it was familiar to Greek speaking Jews before Christ. The writer of Hebrews used it in two quotes and whoever wrote or translated Mark used it.
They would likely also have known it as Allaw.
@FSWorldUK@Math_files Also true. Someone commented they read this was posted a year ago in Finland. In English because the owner had an ID in the wallet that made the finder know which language to write the note in.
@jools6691 True. But we’re all mortal until the resurrection. People and animals.
Service animals were granted a day off in the 10 commandments.
Isaiah speaks of a day where killing an animal would be abhorrent.
God will bring animals to watch Him kill men who slaughtered them in vain.
@jools6691 Animals, if I understand correctly, will be repaid for their suffering according to scripture.
God holds a high view of animals and justice.
@Tez8Tez8@gncv@SipsWithSerra Finally, an interesting argument is found in 1 Cor 13. Love never ends. Faith ends. Faith is us seeing dimly in the mirror.
@Tez8Tez8@gncv@SipsWithSerra I am not saying you aren't saved. God chooses to reveal himself to one person one way and to another person another way. He even reveals himself to men that will never have faith.
Heb 11:1 defines what faith is. "faith is... the conviction of things not seen." (continued)
@Tez8Tez8@gncv@SipsWithSerra Paul makes a similar argument the author of Hebrews makes in Romans 8 about hope. The KJV reads "For we are saved by hope", which made me think for years "Hope" was a synonym for "Faith". Its like "It was in the last place I looked." Because after you find it you stop looking.
@Tez8Tez8@gncv@SipsWithSerra My claim is that the moment a person has faith, they are saved. At some point after that, every person will know God. Once you know God you no longer have faith in God. You just know Him.
It is impossible to be saved by grace through faith once the possibility of faith is past.
@Tez8Tez8@gncv@SipsWithSerra I'm being a bit presumptuous here, but it seems to me you are saying that a person is saved by faith, then said person has a NDE and is still saved though they have had a special revelation granting knowledge, which invalidates my claim.
But that's not my claim.... (continued)
