The biggest scam in the UK is being told that if you work hard you'll get ahead.
People are working harder than ever.
They're doing overtime. Taking second jobs. Selling things online. Cutting back on everything they can.
Yet somehow a weekly food shop feels like a luxury purchase and half your wages disappear on rent before the month has even started.
The problem isn't that people aren't working.
The problem is that work doesn't pay what it used to.
- 169,000 children are living in temporary accommodation.
- House prices are still 7.6x the average annual full time salary.
- Food prices keep rising.
- Unemployment is climbing.
And they’ve decided to use over 1 billion on a theme park.
You simply cannot hate them enough.
@AaronBower Hes right isn't he Aaron. Perhaps more journos can ask the RFL the disciplinary panels findings and why exactly they thought Nsemba diddnt put Leyland in more danger. Because in any sporting court of law, theyd be laughed out the building.
I love how the solution to every financial problem in the UK is apparently:
"Stop buying coffee and cancel subscriptions"
Mate, I could give up coffee.
I could give up takeaways.
I could cancel Netflix.
I could start cutting my own fucking hair.
And I'd still be running out of money 2 weeks after payday.
The problem isn't the coffee or subscriptions.
The problem is wages aren't keeping up with the cost of living. It's not even close anymore.
@JMcAllisterRL Unprecedented shouldn't come into it. They both should have got big bans and the RFL and MRP have bottled it. They don't care about player welfare at all. Big bans for next to nothing and then nothing for dropping someone on his head.
@AaronBower But Nsemba's actions made the tackle more dangerous! That's clear for anyone who watches it. He speared his head into the ground! The MRP is not fit for purpose and serious questions need to be asked. They are supposed to care about player welfare. Disgusting.
Absolutely mind blowing that Nsemba has got away with nothing for his part in the Leyland tackle on Saturday. It will be very interesting to read the disciplinary panels reasoning for giving him nothing. Absolutely useless, pretending to care about player welfare when it suits
Rest in eternal peace boss.
You gave me the greatest rugby league day of my life, for that I’m indebted to you forever!
One of the very few I stay in touch with from our great game, thanks for all your help and advice, I’ll miss our chats ❤️
Love to Dawn and all the family ❤️
John Kear bled rugby league and was a great ambassador for the sport. So sad to hear of his passing on the way back from Wembley after commentating on the challenge cup final on Saturday. RIP John.
Hull KR are deeply saddened to learn the passing of Rugby League legend, John Kear.
Everyone at the club sends our thoughts and best wishes to John's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
@TrylineUK Yes its strange isnt it. Even the league game at Wigan last August that secured Rovers the LLS, was the most one sided 10-6 game i have ever seen and the scoreline did not reflect the game. We will see what position we are in come August time.
