Repentance is an opportunity to smash the idols that keep us from fully glorifying God.

The purpose of our life then shifts away from my own happiness to God's glory.

But the irony is that in pursuing His glory, we find the happiness we always desired.

Why?

Repentance is an act of choosing to treasure God above all.

And if God is that treasure, then we experience what David did in Psalm 16:

you will fill me with joy in your presence,
