@StormyArsenal@BradBigelow7@DocLibertarian I mean, the original argument is obviously true as well, as long as you limit it to those athletes with the correct body type for soccer AND soccer was a sport Americans preferred culturally AND coordination is under the umbrella of the term “athleticism”
@StormyArsenal@BradBigelow7@DocLibertarian So why would you posit American athletes would have less “innate talent”? Just being BORN in Spain doesn’t make you a better soccer player lmao. Our soccer-playing “Van Gogh” is just playing in the nfl instead
@JoshisButler90 Wtf else could it be?? It isn’t fair that we have the greatest athletes in the world, but we simply do 🤷♂️ you’re just lucky soccer is like our 5th favorite sport culturally
@yElff_ If prime Odell decided he loved soccer as a kid and not football, he’s probably on the national team. If he decided he liked tennis, he’s probably on the ATP tour. Mike Evans coulda been in the NBA, Kyler Murray coulda been in the MLB, list goes on and on
@yElff_ Man, this is take is utterly brain dead. THE reason why this is the case is because these athletes weren’t kicking a soccer ball in their athletically formative years. Of course they’re gonna be bad kicking a soccer ball for their first time in theirs mid-twenties.
