Yeah, I agree this fee is too high for a young player. For £85m, you'd expect someone who scores a ton of goals and has won some trophies. So, I'm glad we walked away. But, trying to keep wages down just isn't gonna work, and unfortunately, if Man United sticks to that, we'll end up with second-rate players and be lucky to finish in the top 6.

Why are we obsessed with hiring "experienced" managers? Look at our track record—Moyes, LVG, Mourinho, Ole, Rangnick, Ten Hag—none truly worked out long-term.
Football's results-driven. If Carrick delivers (e.g., strong finish & UCL spot), why swap him for an outsider who doesn't get the club? We'd just spin in circles again.
Elite bosses like Pep thrive with big backing—stick him at Wolves, he'd struggle.
United's decisions are usually wrong, so maybe do the opposite: Stick with Carrick. Sometimes the answer's right under your nose.
