@WUTangKids Don’t be an a$$. Most of the pissed off people actually support ski patrol in this situation. You can be upset that your trip got ruined and at the same time be pissed at the big company for being the main reason.
@liftblog 💯. As pissed as I am at @VailResorts and @PCski. The front line on mountain staff is doing a great job trying to take care of annoyed customers. Their leadership just sucks.
@SnowbasinResort Just trolling @PCski and @VailResorts. Love to see it!! They deserve it. Anyone have any suggestions for mid / high to high end hotel options near Snowbasin? Not SLC. Too far. Need to convince the wife. :)
@ebitdagirliee Has Alterra been a problem as far as operational issues / employee relations? From what I’ve seen it’s just Vail. Vail has been a pubco for a some time. Not sure you can blame this on PE.
@ShawnASearle1@Adventuring_RE@brandontigges@VailResorts A rock & hard place problem but should’ve been resolved by now given they started talking in April. They don’t want to set a precedent especially 4 year round benefits but pissing off consumers is a bad strategy. Especially in Utah where ppl have choose & Ikon has more mtns.
@PlugInFUD To be clear, I’m still blaming Vail. To ruin customer experience and your brand because you couldn’t figure something out since April is just idiotic.
@PlugInFUD My guess is that the bigger issue is the year round health insurance ask. I was told that the patrollers had 25-30 asks and got the vast majority but I expect the two biggest issues were the ones Vail won’t give in to. I have no idea if this is accurate. Could be complete BS.
@TWheels88@brandontigges@VailResorts As much as I’m annoyed with @VailResorts, this has nothing to do with DEI and ESG. The E in ESG is actually critical to the ski industry and the sport. This whole situation is simply stupidity.
@JillWoodburn12@brandontigges@VailResorts Sorry to hear it. We cancelled the rest of our trip & r leaving early because I’m worried about exactly this situation 4 my kids. Plus nobody wants 45 min lines. I’m a capitalist in every way & all for managing P&L but @VailResorts has handled this incredibly poorly.
@liftblog A local in Park City told me they’ve been negotiating since spring 2024 and Vail was not giving an inch. Not sure if this is true but if it is, they really miscalculated their leverage by not resolving this by the Holiday week. Now they have really ticked off customers.
@brandontigges@WasatchSnow@VailResorts I’m one of the lucky ones, I can afford the cash, but I can’t afford my kids getting hurt because of pure incompetence. I’m not sure they understand the brand damage they caused. Everyone that asks (+those that don’t), i’ll be telling them about @VailResorts mismanagement
@brandontigges@VailResorts 100% agree. It’s dangerous out there with the crowds and limited runs. Taking my money elsewhere in the future. That includes multiple days of private lessons on top of the food and passes. My dollars alone don’t matter but if more of us do this, it just might matter.
@brandontigges@WasatchSnow@VailResorts I was at park city. Total chaos. This is mismanagement by Vail. Totally killing user experience and creating a legit safety issue. 2025/ 2026 will likely be Deer Valley (I need to learn to ski) and Snowbird for our trip. No reason to put up with this from @VailResorts
@liftblog Was on the mountain today. Total chaos. Crazy long lift lines. End of the day riding / skiing to bottom is the most dangerous run of the day. Been coming for 20 years and have seen thinner snow coverage with more terrain open.
@liftblog@PCski We know it’s holiday time and crowded but a big chunk of the mountain just not being open and making the situation worse is killing the user experience for skiers and boarders. I’ll likely be moving to @IkonPass next season.
@PCski our family had the worst ski experiences today we’ve ever had. Big part of mtn not open. 2 many people in a reduced space makes it very dangerous. U need 2 resolve fight w/ ski patrol & get the mtn open. Been coming 20 yrs, you’re ruining the user experience. @VailResorts
@LokiJulianus@VivekGRamaswamy Nothing wrong with this & I hope the kids who r the starting QB & head cheerleader do great but if I’m a betting man, I’ll bet on the nerd valedictorians to ultimately be more successful than HS QBs, on average. There will be exceptions but the nerds win over any wide population.
