check out this very cool (or should I say very temperate) sub-Neptune citizen scientists, @EisnerNora, and I confirmed! multiple stars, multiple planets, over a century of data--this system's got something for everyone: https://t.co/MyrwhlJsFt
Life has been chaotic recently, so I've been quiet here but it's big news time! I've accepted a new faculty position at @JohnsHopkins in the Department of Physics and Astronomy starting this fall. Really excited to dive back into the DC/Baltimore astro community!
Come celebrate #Manhattanhenge with me at the American Museum of Natural History in #NYC on July 13th! It will be an evening of information and FUN in the SUN(set). :)
How will the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope expand our view of the universe?
Drs. Julie McEnery, Jasleen Kaur Matharu and Samuel K. Grunblatt tell us how the telescope will be a “discovery machine.” #RomanScience#NASARoman
Super excited to share that we discovered GIANT tails of the helium escaping the hot Jupiter HAT-P-32b using @HPFspectrograph, and our study is published by @ScienceAdvances today!

✨Excited to share our paper on Lithium-Rich Red Giants, now on the arXiv! https://t.co/0jChCSRxnB
Stellar models predict that lithium inside a star is destroyed during the first dredge-up phase, yet 1% of red giants are Li-rich.
after a month of continuous deadlines and 40+ pages of proposals written, my ADAP, HST and XRP proposals are all submitted!! time to binge all of succession season 4 so I can make small talk again
can anyone else successfully query the NASA exoplanet archive right now? or is this our collective punishment for waiting until 48 hours before the XRP deadline to finish proposals
and if getting through all 59 pages seems daunting (still working on it myself) the figures are all amazing, with figures 9, 12, 16, and 17 being my personal favorites:
👀!! Awesome work by Robbie Wilson, @mrtommyb, @TheChedgehog, @benmontet, @elsisrad, @nespinozap and others predicts that we’ll find 60,000-200,000 new transiting planets in the @NASARoman Galactic Bulge survey: https://t.co/LQ8Gtc69oU
That’s roughly 10x the number of planets we know of right now—in the most pessimistic scenario. And planet yield results depend strongly on trends with stellar properties, so this survey will probe planet population features we’ve never been able to see before!!
