@NativeMainer We can confirm they were extremely delicious straight out the oven! Can’t beat a scone on a Sunday afternoon! Send us a picture next time you bake some!
Sunday scones. Home made by the Scottish Scone Society. Half the batch raisin and the other half plain. Delicious with strawberry jam and cream #scottishsconesociety#scones#homebaking
Fruit scones with cream and blackberry jam from Hays Garden Centre on the west coast of Scotland. We think blackberry jam might be the best combo!
They also offered amazing pre-filled cream scones and multiple flavoured scones.

First post on a LONG time!
After doing afternoon tea for about 30 people yesterday, we have a few leftovers….. delicious cherry scones from @TheGoodLoaf with @Roddas_Cream and #BonMaman Strawberry Jam. So good!
@nt_scones@SSconesociety Earl Grey Scones today. Inspired by Polesden Lacey in Surrey. Served as recommended, warm, with butter and marmalade. Very subtle flavour of the Earl Grey tea. Posh & Delicious. Another awesome recipe!
@nt_scones@SSconesociety@doctormrsscott Here’s my scone model inspired by the Giant’s Causeway, County Antrim. The only National Trust property that looks like its made of scones.I went with double to recipe’s 50g of sultanas. Now I know what buttermilk is. I’d not heard of it.
Falkirk Wheel. After a visually appealing start, Scone maybe wasn’t in ‘the premier league’ but some extra butter and jam is worth asking for. Quite filling after a long cycle along the canal which was welcome. Enjoy the day out and location. #scottishsconesociety#scones#jam
@nt_scones@SSconesociety @HattieOtter @doctormrsscott Beetroot Scones! Weirdly delicious served as suggested, except for the soft goat. Inspired by National Trust’s Dyffrn Gardens, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, and the Book of Scones. Recipe 31, my 48th of 50. Victory is in sight.
@nt_scones@SSconesociety Lucky 13, the Salted Caramel and Apple Scone recipe. Inspired by the National Trust’s Scotney Castle, Kent. Rich and luxurious as the Book says. And I’d much rather glaze than drizzle.
@nt_scones@SSconesociety@doctormrsscott Wet Nelly Scones, recipe 14 from The NT Book of Scones, inspired by Speke Hall, Liverpool. Wet Nelly, Liverpudlian bread pudding, made Friday. Delicious in its own right, so happy there’s a good slab left. The scones are great too.
@nt_scones@SSconesociety Greys Court and a ‘rare Tudor donkey wheel’ Oxfordshire inspire these Peach, Vanilla and Poppy Seed Scones. Out of season, local fruit shop had fresh peaches imported from USA. Subtle flavours. Very nice. 6 recipes to go to complete the book! Then what?
