There's no revolution coming out of the CJP protests. Given India's size, power structure and institutions, it's highly unlikely. Their demands are performative and useless. They don't want the government gone, they just want it to keep targeting Muslims instead of them.
Dear M youngsters, kabhi hum bhi aapki tarah chutiya the
CJP is nothing compared to what AAP used to sound so genuine and honest.
But still our elders used to warn us. I even misbehaved with one of our school teachers in a fb comment exchange. I'm still carrying that guilt.
You will attend the protest as an Indian but will be persecuted like a Muslim. Let the people who have no fear of UAPA carry the protest. Your Urdu name is enough for you to get arrested and your house bulldozed.
Post-COVID I had the same hopium.
Mismanagement, health infra collapse,
dead bodies on roads and in rivers.
But this country runs on WhatsApp forwards and hatred for Muslims. Memory lasts 2 weeks here.
Muslims aren't avoiding the CJP protests out of fear, we're refusing to waste ourselves on a cause that isn't ours.
We're not afraid of illegal detention, UAPA or your prisons. If fear was the deciding factor, we would've stopped resisting your government and its policies years ago. This protest doesn't address our issues, solve our problems or advance our cause. It leaves the structures that target us untouched, so we won't ask our people to bear the cost of a movement that offers us nothing.
We've spent more than a decade challenging your government despite arrests, intimidation and systematic persecution. We'll continue to resist, but only when the struggle serves our people instead of someone else's.
