Before the game, Brian Cashman said he believes Aaron Boone "does a great job." I asked what he sees to make him believe he's still the right guy to get them through these struggles:
“Nothing different than what I’ve always seen in him. I think he’s a very hard worker, very well connected. I think he’s prepared. I think he’s pulling every lever he possibly can. Nothing more than I’ve said before.”
@DanAlanRourke Not happening under Boone's clubhouse - manages for the players comfort, not good at discomfort. We've seen his attempt (2004 Red Sox ALCS video!?) and they always land flat.
@BobbyMilone29 That’s been the strategy - work to get into the playoffs one way or the other, just hope for the best in Oct. Really been working out for them lately.
"My two are in their 40s, they're not going to have kids. I won't go into one of them. That's not gonna happen. So the line is burnt. It's burnt. It just burned down" - Keith Hernandez
This is also the part of the season when I pause watching every pitch or every game
They take a mental break....I take a mental break
I circle back around the deadline
@DMacSportsCO@AltitudeSR So much progress! Great fight in this team. Who cares? They’re going to be last place but this builds character for the young dudes.
If you’re surprised at the Rockies 7-run late inning comeback tonight, you shouldn’t be. Their OFFENSE ranks across the 7th, 8th, & 9th innings this season:
.276 BA (1st)
.336 OBP (6th)
.432 SLG (1st)
.768 OPS (2nd)
.337 wOBA (2nd)
Don’t overlook those Rockies late 👀
