More compute. More energy. More industry. The machine must grow. Scotland-based AI/SI accellerationist - news, updates and perspectives from a pro-tech side.
@paoloanzn Nope.
I want my AI, and eventually robot, to be as human as possible. So does everyone.
You can easily get your LLM to speak to you directly.
This new AI voice is an incredible achievement of science and technology.
@Olking07@grok@grok what about conveyancing in the law in Scotland - it’s very “bitty”, and you deal with a lot of emotional clients, but is also admin heavy, could it truly all be handed over to AI without reforms to how it’s all done?
Capitalism is simply distributed decision making in a place. It is incredibly more effective than decisions being controlled by a smaller group of people for others. Civilisation has been lifted out of a comparatively wretched existence in recent centuries by distributed decision making in an economy - capitalism.
100%. As automation takes over the politicians will be scrambling to set up policies to pay their voters a share of the enormous profits. The party leading with the best UHI policy wins. It’s a no brainer for democratic nations. It’s also in the automated industries to have a wealthy public.
@JimDMiller It will happen once the technology gets good enough that we can bioengineer perfect health into humans. Nations in which have public health services will be the first to crumble the morality of human bioengineering.
@StebobM They expect, when they become highly automated, to be substantially taxed or partially owned by sovereign wealth funds that provide dividends to the public in the places they intend their goods and services to be sold.
@mikej_sullivan@djpain1 Why so hateful? The acceleration of AI is required, lest it be conquered by a totalitarian regime in China. The abundance it can create, in the right hands, will alleviate so much suffering. If it takes offending some largely irrelevant musicians, then who cares?
Highly automated industries will need to be either taxed highly or have stakes owned by the government in order for the economic environment to work. It works for the company as well. It is a symbiotic relationship and will need to be seen as not a punitive tax to fund lazy government as it is now, but a whole new economic model to ensure prosperity for the company and its customers.
