Cycling in LDN is booming as we expand our Cycleway Network🚲
Delighted @cityoflondon gives the go-ahead for the Aldgate to Blackfriars Cycleway🚲
This will connect up E/W Cycleway 3 to N/S C6 through the City of London - enabling more people to make safer cycling journeys🚲
My thoughts on the best and worst performing councils since the last local elections in 2022

Delighted to be working with @MAsgharButt@kkrupas & team @Brent_Council to deliver Cycleway 72.
This critical route will provide a safe North Circular crossing linking Wembley Central & Harlesden - as well as huge improvements for pedestrians too ♥️

Work has started on Westbourne Terrace in @CityWestminster, the fourth project started by them in the last 6 months:
- C43 (Hyde Pk-Marylebone)
- C51 (Marylebone-St John’s Wood)
- C63 (Cleveland St)
Central London had a good 2025 and is set to have a good 2026 too!
The SafeCycleLDN Map has just reached 1.5 million views! Thanks to all my supporters, with a special shout out to @LukeAlsford, who‘s Metro article brought along many new people

Westminster's Bayswater Rd scheme would deliver a safer continuous cycling connection linking Cycleways 3 and 27, as well as providing a direct east–west route along the north side of Hyde Park.

@willnorman@London_Cycling@CycleSistersUK@CityWestminster@lambeth_council@TfL Very happy that this was built, but you shouldn’t be thanking Tarmac Kier Joint Venture. They did a terrible job of making the cycle lanes smooth. In LB Camden, instead of thanking the tarmac company, they force them yo re-do it if it’s too bumpy!
Another central London street transformed with a filter and added gardens, preventing rat-running, noise, and danger. Chef’s kiss, London. Thank you, @CamdenCouncil, don't stop.
@IsSaddleThereIs@JohnJohnStewart Both an example of TfL claiming backstreet signage is ‘built cycle lane’ and a clearly politically-motivated and/or poorly researched article
The Court of Appeal's judgement stopping Tower Hamlets from ripping out safety infrastructure is good news for Londoners.
It's good for road safety & reducing danger. It's good for air quality, good for health, and good for communities across the capital.

@PolitlcsUK Clearly poorly researched, because as much as @RBKC do nothing to make walking or cycling safe, their roads are some of the best paved in London! Never seen a serious pot hole cycling through there 5 times a week for a year and a half. Very strange
I should add that this was all on Cycleway 57 (Barnes-Hammersmith). @TfL why wasn’t this cycleway gritted last night? Also does this mean that its not policy to grit designated TfL cycleways in this weather? This surely puts Londoners in massive danger!
Be careful Londoners. The roads seem more icy today than they did on Monday or Tuesday. I’ve seen about 10 falls since I left home 15 mins ago. Cycle slowly, look out for black ice and try and use roads that have been gritted!
