Worldwide, 1.25 million people are killed and up to 50 million injured as a result of accidents on roads every year. The low and middle-income countries (LMICs) bear the heaviest burden (85%) of all road traffic accidents in the world.
Worldwide deaths from road traffic accidents is = to more than 6 jets with 500 passengers crashing with no survivors every day throughout the year. This is unacceptable. We Must Act. @Parliament_Ug@RebeccaKadaga#RoadSafety@WorldBank@WHOUganda @SafeWayRightWay
“I learnt lessons from my accident and I’d like to caution everyone:
1️⃣Take enough rest before a long journey
2️⃣Always use a seatbelt
3️⃣Obey traffic rules at all times” She says

Someone was in the car you see here. They were someone’s relative, friend or workmate. 9 deaths happen everyday in Uganda due to road accidents. #SWRW18
We can't talk about #SWRW18 and forget to mention the very unsafe pedestrian walk-ways in our towns, especially in #Kampala. Boda bodas riding on pavements are finishing our school children
#SWRW18 Hon Ruhunda: Road safety is anchored on public policy. It is critical if road safety is to receive political support for its implementation. We look forward to working with the political leadership to achieve 50% safety by 2030. @swrwug
