A Palestinian man from Gaza who was detained by Israeli forces explains his ordeal of being tortured under Israeli captivity.

Ibrahim Mohammad Khaleel al-Shaweesh, who was released in a very poor state of health, says Israeli forces used all forms of torture, including electricity and dogs.

If this news had come out of Iran, every Western government would be foaming at the mouth, issuing statements, slapping on sanctions, and using it as yet another excuse to justify their imperialist agenda. Feminist influencers would be tweeting in outrage, Western media would run non-stop coverage, and the U.S. would suddenly remember what “human rights” are. But when Israel, their beloved apartheid state, guns down an eight-months-pregnant Palestinian woman and blocks medical aid until both she and her unborn child die, the silence is deafening.

Where are the champions of women’s rights now? The same governments that claim to stand for “gender equality” are bankrolling a regime that slaughters Palestinian women in cold blood. The same media that demonizes Muslim countries over “women’s oppression” suddenly can’t find the words when a pregnant Palestinian woman is executed by the Israeli military. The same feminist organizations that scream about “bodily autonomy” have nothing to say when Israel’s bullets rip through a woman’s body, killing both her and her baby.

This isn’t just hypocrisy, it’s strategic, state-sponsored dehumanization. Palestinian lives do not fit into the West’s performative activism, so their deaths are ignored, excused, or outright justified. When a Palestinian woman is murdered, she doesn’t get the luxury of being mourned; instead, her death is buried under headlines about Israel’s “right to defend itself.”

Let’s call this what it is: genocide, funded and protected by the same Western powers that pretend to care about human rights. The U.S. and its allies are not just complicit; they are active participants. They supply the weapons, they shield Israel from accountability, and they control the narrative to make sure Palestinian suffering is erased.

Sundus Shalabi’s murder isn’t an isolated tragedy, it’s a symptom of a brutal settler-colonial regime that thrives on extermination. And if you’re still making excuses for Israel, still justifying its crimes, or still staying silent, you’re part of the problem. Justice isn’t selective.
