We have multiple open postdoc positions available in microbial engineering to develop nature-inspired infrastructure materials! If you have expertise in applied microbiology and/or genetic engineering of bacteria/fungi, please apply!
Congrats to @m9h9c & @YAFarnam for being selected for an Outstanding Research Award for their paper/presentation at @SmartincsEU'23. Great to showcase the @DrexelEngr team's hard work for our @NSF funded project aimed at developing bio-inspired fibers for self-healing concrete.
Look at @DrexelCAEE PhD candidate @ARahmaninezhad rocking the mic and his presentation at SMARTINCS'23 organized by @SmartincsEU. Great presentation on showcasing the importance of sporulation methods to create environmentally resilient spores for MICP. #bioconcrete#Belgium

The rulemaking came after the DEP asked Drexel to evaluate PFAS contamination in the state, which concluded the EPA health advisory for PFAS was no longer protective of public health.
The study was conducted by researchers in @DrexelMedicine@DrexelEngr & @drexelpubhealth
Now published! @asajclewis's recent paper on studying the impacts of microbial weathering processes on the leaching of PFAS from biosolids, which we conducted as a part of a collaborative @NSF project with Erica McKenzie et al @TU_Engineering.

Check out this recent pub resulting from our @SERDP_ESTCP project, where Xiaoyan from @TU_Engineering and @asajclewis & Galen from @DrexelCAEE observe that increased OC in the sediment reduces PFAS bioaccumulation in benthic macroinvertebrates.
